ADOPTED!
Lucas's Story: When you meet this happy go lucky boy you can't believe what he has endured in his short life. He wiggles with happiness and just loves everyone he meets! When Lucas was a few months old, the police were called as Lucas's owner had been found beating him with a shovel, hanging him from a balcony by his leash and had bashed his head into a wall. Long story short, the owner went to jail for those and other crimes. And because Lucas was in the home when the owner went to jail, the only option for this sweet little puppy to be put in the local animal control shelter. Lucas had to sit there and wait until his owner was sentenced and served his time. That took a year! So Lucas lived his life in a cage in a shelter with very little to do. This is what happens to wonderful dogs every day when their owners go to jail. Great dogs who have done nothing wrong but are owned by those who get into trouble. These laws have to change for the welfare of these animals. As for Lucas, the shelter he was in fell in love with him but knew he had to go elsewhere so that he could be safe. That is how he came to us. Once you see this sweet, smiling face, you just fall in love! Lucas is enjoying freedom, hiking, rolling in the grass, chasing toys, revels in the attention of everyone and just being the big puppy that he is! Lucas will be starting his obedience soon and has lots of learning to catch up on but he is up for the challenge. This boy is all heart! We are so happy to give Lucas all that he needs and provide him with the life he truly deserves. If you would like to sponsor Lucas, please visit our Adopt Us page and see the Sponsor section. Thank you on behalf of Lucas! |
